On No Sleep

No one (except Finn, thankfully) slept more than 45 minutes in a row last night, and I got a total of like 4 hours. Why, you ask? No clue. Honestly. My best guess is that the developmental leap Charlotte is going through (she's THIS close to crawling), is keeping her up at night. It's been going on for days, but at least it's easy to figure out how to soothe her. She just wants to be awake and held. But then not held. But don't put her down.
Her inner monologue goes something like this: Put me down! Hang on - where are you going, are you crazy? Come pick me up this instant! And don't you dare present that nipple to me!! Oh no wait, where'd the nipple go? BRING IT BACK!!! Nom Nom Nom - ahhhhh!! Get it away! It's making me fall asleep, what sorcery is this? Zzzzzz....huh?? What? How did I get back in this god forsaken bed? Come get me NOWWWWW!!!!!
This goes on in 15 minute cycles for hours. It's funny sitting here now, after 2 gallons of coffee and 6 Tylenol for my headache, but it's not so funny at 1 AM. I read something recently that said, when you feel alone in these moments at night, to picture all the other moms also up with their babies, and find solace in the fact that you're not alone. Personally, I'd rather just wake up my husband.
